London's iconic Southbank Centre is steeped in British history. The seventies-inspired wood effect
walls and strong architectural lines seem to have found the perfect contrast in Darbar, the largest
festival of Indian classical music outside of India. Inside the auditorium is a traditional Indian stage,
yet behind the curtain the wandering musicians seem out of place. This portrait series brings to
life the Southbank Centre's role in London's colourful past and multicultural present.
